Unable to use XP hard drive after Mandrake Install

I installed Mandrake 10 on an extra 8GB hard drive I had. Everything was fine. But then i would get just get a black screen with GRUB_ with the underscore blinking. One of the members told me to use my XP disc to fix the MBR but i cant even boot the disc. It just ignores it and goes on to the LiLO menu....which now by the way doesnt even list the Windows part of the dual-boot. It just has Linux.

Any ideas?

I would PREFERABLY like to be able to recover access to the Windows drive along with the Linux drive, but if it comes down to it if someone can help me be able to get the XP boot disc to work I can just reinstall Windows and Linux again.

Oh, and I tried to unplug the Linux hard drive and just boot the Windows and all i get is 1's and 0's for several lines.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
