Installing XP after Linux

Well, on my attempt to dual boot i have done messed it all up. I couldnt use my Windows partition so i tried to reinstall but my xp disc wont boot....my linux discs boot right up but my xp disc wont boot. and ive checked NUMEROUS time that it is in the correct boot sequence and it is. So i ended up just installing Linux on my main 40GB hard disk. How would someone uninstall the linux install to be able to format to try and install XP again? Thanks in advance

Happened to me before, someone wanted to remove Linux, but WinXP gave a blank screen when trying to boot.

I used the Gentoo LiveCD to boot the machine, deleted partitions using Linux fdisk, and then the Windows XP CD booted.

You need to use a bootable CD that can delete partitions, either a Linux live CD or a utility like Acronis disk editor (not free).

As I said, I used the Gentoo live CD, not sure if Knoppix has fdisk.

Or you can plug the hdd to another computer as slave and delete partitions.

When you want to dual boot Linux and windows, the windows OS has to be installed first.

If you saved the installation disk that came with your HD, you may be able to use that to write over the HD.
