Installing Firefox 1.0PR on Fedora Core
I have Fedora Core Yarrow on my one machine. I am pretty new to Linux but was able to download FF 1.0PR and untar it.When I went to install it,the only option it shows on the FF installer is to install the file to home/firefox installer.
After I do that and Firefox starts and everything works well, but after I close FF I can't find it any where on the machine. I didn't installit as root only as user. Has anybody got any ideas as to how I can install it and it will show up in the internet grouping? Thanks |

What I would really like to know,is how to install FF to some directory where I can acess it,preferablely the internet group that ha Mozilla,Konquer, mail ect. Thanks for any help you could provide. |

Thanks for the help,it shows everyhting to be located in /usr/bin/firefox-installer but how can I start it? Is there any place I can put it to just click and start Firefox. Sorry to be so ignorant about this, but I am new to Linux. I really like it so far,but I really want to know all of the ins & outs. Thanks again for all of your help. |

mikeL FYI I figured out how to launch Firefox from the taskbar. Using the FF installer I installed it to /usr/lib/firefox,thrn went to the task bar in KDE and right clicked it and selected chose add special button, non KDE and under executable path typed /usr/lib/firefox,and bingo there it was.
Again thanks for all of your help. |
