How to unpack a *.exe in FC3
Ok so i just downloaded Fedora Core 3 and i have a dual boot going between XP and FC3
This is my first true experience with Linux so I am very confused about some things. I understand the whole concept of how to install programs (kinda ) My wireless card in my laptop is not supported by the drivers that come on Fedora so I have searched google and found out i can download and install ndiswrapper (which I have done) and run the Windows based driver on Linux. My problem is that I need an *.inf or *.sys file that I have to unpack from the *.exe file. Does anyone know how to unpack these files from an exe file? I have searched google but came up with nothing btw my wireless card is a Dell Truemobile 1400 Dual Band (a+b+g) Internal card. Linux is really confusing :-/

Go back to your XP, download the exe file (am assuming you downloaded it from Dell's site) - then run the executable. It is a self extracting archive; you can either extract to a partition that is shared with Linux or to a floppy.

IIRC, that file was a self-extracting zip, you can unpack it using the unzip command:
Code:
$ unzip filename.exe |
