setting up raid 0 with Suse 9.2
Asus 7n8x deluxe
2 sata seagate HD Basically, what I did was installed windows XP on the 2 HD setup as raid 0. Now, I created a 10 gig primary partition for Suse 9.2. When I tried installing Suse, it detected the raid, and said that it's software based and not compatible, therefore it may destroyed data. I look at Asus's website, and the only latest linux raid driver is for Suse 8.1. In fact, I am confused about setting up because yes, this is my first time setting up a LINUX OS. Now, since I could not set it up as raid, I installed Suse on a different HD on the primary IDE. The only bad thing is whenever I want to boot to XP or Suse, I have to change the boot device in BIOS, then save it. I tried OLS2000, when it doesn't work when I select Linux. So my question would be, anything I can to switch OS with ease? Like...can I do something to GRUB?? or..... is it possible to install raid 0 with Suse 9.2, but I just don't know it? If yes, Step by step instruction....for a newbie? What I really would prefer, is installing Suse on the 10 gig partition on the raid 0 setup, and then it'll just show up on GRUB.... Thanks....... |
