I never have tried some back up programs like ghost on Windows. Is there a similar program for OS/2 Warp 4?

well, it's been so long since I've had an HPFS filesystem that I'm not sure if any of the ghost-type programs work with it, but there is a free alternative called ghost for unix available at:
http://www.feyrer.de/g4u/ it's really more of a network distribution tool, since it requires DHCP and FTP servers, but it doesn't care how the disk is formatted, so you can "ghost" any drive. it's based on BSD, if that matters.....it seems to me that you could probably get something like this set up with a tomsrtbt disk or something and the dd command...this would give you a little more freedom, cause it would allow you to mount various filesystems to use as a target for your image, provided the kernel supports them.....the image would be huge with this method, but it should compress nicely. |
