Suse Linux

Hi all,

I have downloaded thunderbird, but I don't know how to install it. Which file extension do I have to double clik to install??

Not realy double click first you download a .RPM file an then select it, in the konqueror browser will apear a button 'install using Yast' click it run the root password and thats all
you need to do.

Suse If I remember right uses /opt directory for mozilla. The .rpm file may default to /usr directory.

If you downloaded the source (.tgz) it will have a readme file that will give you the details about installing thunderbird.

I haven't seen an RPM for thunderbird yet, but this is how I do it.

Go to http://www.mozilla.org/ and download the .tar.gz file.

unzip it
change to the directory where all those freshly unzipped files are and type:
thunderbird

the script runs...done.

I tested this on SuSE 9.2
