Help w/drivers for GeForce in Mandrake 10.1

Hey, I tried installing VGA drivers from Nvidia for my old GeForce card, and it gives me something about having an XServer open.. and it won't install. I tried the Crtl,Alt,F1 Thing at the login screen and it still gives me the same message.

I'm a Linux newie and could use some assistance. As I mentioned, this is the Mandrake 10.1 Beta Distro.

Thanks,
Dave

Crtl Alt F1 will only take you to your first virtual text console (XWindows by default is on F7)

What you need to do is logout of X, hop over to Crtl Alt F2 (use the 2nd to be on the safe side), login as root, then run
Code:
init 1
which will change you to single user mode, then you can run the NVidia installer as root
