panther not seeing xp comps quickly

i have a network behind a linksys router, consisting of two xp comps with shared drives, and an ibook with os x panther. when i go into network to see those drives, it takes forever to find the xp computers if it does at all. all the comps are set to the same workgroup, so i am out of ideas. the xp comps see each other fine, so i am guessing i have something wrong on the ibook end

thanks in advance
craig

Thats about normal when browsing a windows network. It's quicker if you map the windows share. use apple+K to open the connect to server dialog. Type in the IP address of the share and click connect. Fill in username & PW and be sure to check the keychain option. The share should mount on the desktop. Now open a finder window and drag the icon from the desktop to the finder tool bar. Next time you want to connect just click the link in the finder toolbar.
