Linux commands and modems
1. I am trying to get info on a modem I have, as I need it for a linux command to make it work. The query command is:
cat/ proc / pci. I tried entering this in Aterm and it said the command is unreconized... it wouldn't even accept "cat/". Is there another terminal type I should use instead? Is "shell" another type of terminal? 2. I have a second modem I could try, but it needs a Linux driver. Er, how does one install a driver in Linux? Just drop in a folder? |

If anything shouldn't it be, cat /proc/pci? I don't know if that does list anything at all, but cat/ isn't going to give you anything.
YOu need to find the driver for the modem if it isn't automatically detected, which would be online at the manufacturers website, or Google.com. They should give installations instructions with any driver download. Last edited by ZeratulsAvenger; 05-18-2005 at 01:20 AM. |
