Hi,

You don't say what sound card you have or the error you get. I will assume you have an ISA type, and the 2.6.x kernel.

The 2.6.x kernels now longer have built-in support for ISA sound cards. The 2.4.x do. If you have the 2.6.x, you will need to do a re-compile of your kernel to get it. And in either kernel you will need to install a program called sndconfig. That should be on your install discs. It does need to be run as root from the Cli. It should auto-magiclly detect it and the settings. If not, you will need to know what kind it is and the addresses for it to manually enter it.

Your printer is very well supported under Linux. Just go to the Mandrake Control Center, log in as root, and go to System, I think, ( I don't have a Mandrake box in front of me right now, sorry). But look around in there anyway, you should learn whats there anyway. It will walk you through the setup in glorious GUI goodness. It might ask for install discs, so have them handy.

HTH,
OOPS!
