Linux spamming?
Don't want to get this thread off topic either but the recent spamming thread has gone and Linux user are here.
Getting tons of mail from some random addresses like [email]gn234psr@hotmail.com(e) with mention of >linux programming@> in the heading. . Comes from a different address everytime and is all in some hieroglyphics type text with a pop up window requesting me to download a 'translater'. I trash them all, and filtered them, but wonder if anyone has seen these, and worry if I'm missing something useful. I remember visiting a couple of Linux sites when I was feeling courageous and thinking of playing with Linux on my #2 machine. |

Moved to a new topic cos it was definitely off base in the old thread.
Regarding spamming, well it doesnt matter who or what does it .. its probably on a NIX machine cos they are easier to create mass mailing tools in. The subject is irrelevant, the originating domain is irrelevant, the originating OS is irrelevant, your OS is irrelevant .. SPAM IS IRRELEVANT. Get rid of it. complain to the postmaster if u have the inclination .. but i've given up that fight a while back and let it come .. just kept changing email addresses. |
