Duh. I am sorry guys. A little research reveals that my question refers to an old bios problem that was solved around the time of the Pentium II. Prior to the solution it was necessary for someone installing a drive larger than 8GB to use the manufacturer's partition software or flash the bios once the fix was published. It shouldn't be a problem with my new system. I will try to ask hard questions in the future.
