My install went great, but the only sound I have is from Gaim. I have no OS sounds or sounds from the Fedora Core 4 games. When I do a Desktop/System Settings/Soundcard Detection I hear the sound no prob at all. Any ideas. Thank you in advance.

What window manager are you using?
KDE or GNOME?

I haven't used RedHat, or even Gnome in ages, but you have to distinguish if your using OSS or ALSA. From there, you can tell Gnome how to access your sound card.
Turn your speaker's volume on to about low to medium. Open a console prompt, and type Code:
echo 1 > /dev/dsp Code:
echo 1 > /dev/dsp1 Let us know if your using OSS based on the above Mike |
