Windows media center vs. OS X
Well Im basically a huge media nerd and when I heard about the new Windows media center I thought it was the coolest thing ever, but I am also a fan of apple's os x so I was wondering if apple had anything to compare to the media center such as tv tuner, remote, etc.?
Please don't post if you wouldnt bet your life upon you answer according to you knowledge of the subjet, I dont want another fight between apple and windows. Thanks |

linux does with mythtv and freevo and such, but osx doesn't have anything of that magnitude yet.

Ohh yeah. If you've never used Linux before, try http://www.ubuntulinux.org/ Ubuntu is great and what I learned on. I believe it has a great selection of "Media stuff" |

it's tough to beat, it doesn't have any of the silly limitations that Windows has. it's not easy to set up like Windows is, of course, but once it works it can do alot more. mythtv is the most advanced of the Linux media recording/serving apps out there right now. I use it and wouldn't trade it for anything, it's perfect for my uses. there's lots of guides out there, just google for "mythtv howto" and you'll turn up plenty of guides. i wrote a detailed how-to specific to slackware as well, which if you're interested is here. |
