Grub error 2 Fedora
OK folks here is the problem. I loaded Fedora 4 and all went well till I came to the first boot then all I got was the word GRUB. So, I started serching for info on GRUB and foung lots, most of it not very usefull but interesting non the less. What I did finally find was a post here about doing recovery with the install disk then typing chroot /mnt/sysimage then typing I beleave GRUB /dev/hda then exiting. whitch did the following; now when I boot I get two things, first it says "GRUB loading stage 1.5" then right below that it says "GRUB loading please wait" with some dots after it then the next line down says "Error 2".
I have found a site that has the error codes and 2 is "Selected disk doesn't exist". My question, if you haven't figured by now, is what do I do now to get it to boot. I have this installed on a 40 gig hard drive with no other system. This was a fresh install. I have just started to play with linux so be easy on me with the geek speek. I have tried to install Umbutu and had the same problem. The comp will run the live disk of Umbutu.
