What to do with a NeXt System?
Hey,
ok i got a NeXt system, 17 b/w Monitor, keyboard, sound box, cpu everything, just have nothing to do with it. I would like to get it working, but as far as i can tell the HDD has been formated, any ideas on where i can get a OS that will work on it? Just seems a waste to dump it thx |

i dont believe you know a NeXT system (not that i'm blaming/critizing you) The NeXT system would be compareable to a 486 with some 40mb SCSI HDD, network connection, Black and White 17 inch monitor (1120 x 832pixel) floppy and audio.
More info onthe NeXt system here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NeXT What i have is the NeXTstation It was basically what Steve Jobbs came up with when he left Apple |

Have you checked out FreeBSD's website, maybe one of the older distro's may fit on a 40mb HD, or possibly look up Damn Small Linux also. Then there is one of the many DOS distros...
Good luck with your project ![]() Mike
