Installing CUPS
Okay, so I have Damn Small Linux, up and running, all fine and dandy.
I am trying to install Common Unix Printing Service, or CUPS. Everything is fine, until it comes time to compile the source. I get an error that says that there is no C compiler installed. Grasping at straws I downloaded TCC, Tiny C Compiler, and it said just add a line to the beginning of the source and it would compile...it didn't. Would someone be able to guide me in the right direction? »fo |

Try installing the gcc compiler. That should fix your compiler problems.
As a point of interest once you get the CUPS package compiled, one of the best resources I know of for getting CUPS to work is linuxprinting.org. It is a gold mine for CUPS and just linux printing info in general. |

Yes, I agree about the linuxprinting.org.
I got a PDF from them on installing CUPS (better than one I could find on cups.org ironically) It said in the beginning I needed 'Development Software' to install it...I skipped over it, to see how far I could get. Thanks, »fo |
