Ideal CPU speed for Linux/Unix
I plan to build a new computer sometime soon, and I want to use Linux or Unix on it. Now I have searched the forums and tried the dead link in the Linux sticky and obviously had no luck. So any help is appreciated.

What information are you looking for? You can run Linux on just about anything; any processor out there today is more than enough to handle it.

There are so many distros to accomadate pretty much all the processors out there. I have you have post '98 pc you will be fine. I even have DS linux running on a computer from 97 or 96.
