Is there a Photoshop like program for linux?

I did a little looking around but found nothing, I wasn't looking for a full hardcore replica of photoshop but something similar that would run on Ubuntu.

Does anyone know of anything that might work?

TIA,
ryan

It will not be a pain if you select the right install package.
The question is which distro or operating system will you use the gimp on it might not be as complicated as you think.

Gimp usually comes packaged with most distros. It is damn powerful. It does take some getting used to.

After posting about Gimp last night I did a little checking at www.gimp.org. I strongly recommend the tutorials. One evening and you feel very comfortable with Gimp.
