it's a bit dated, so if you run into problems make sure to post back.

i sent the mobo back because i wanted a different one and ordered some 256 MB DDR 266 ram from crucial. the new moboard is : EPOX-8K7A ,AMD761 CHISET
. new question.... will the 266 FSB and DDR memory work with the current kernel? Last edited by Artaudd; 06-27-2001 at 12:11 AM. |

I don't think it will be too much of an issue, the FSB/chipset shouldn't bother the kernel too much. the real issue is going to be the controller and your older distribution. I would not use his config file, though.

err...no, I meant the RAID/disk controller. that was posted before you changed the post. I say wait and get it, then deal with any problems you have.
the Asus A7M266 runs the AMD761 chipset and is most definately supported under Linux. I don't think you have to worry about it not running Windows 98. most of the time, you're not going to have many issues with RAM or chipsets. most of the time. |
