Mandrake 7.2 problem

I'm sure one of you guys will be able to sort this out, actually two problems;

1. After I install windows managers like Afterstep, Blackbox, Windowmaker on a Mandrake 7.2 system, how do I choose the windows managers? I know that at login there is an option to choose which windows manager you want but how do I choose the installed ones?

2. Secondly, how do I mount a parrallel iomega zip drive, it says something about /dev/sda in the disk druid but how do I use it?

Thanks for any help.

Go into the configuration prog (depending on current window manager) it could be under "Session" --> and you can choose which one in there. Other option is to log out of the current session then choose the one you want upon next login. Once you've got the Zip mounted, you should be able to use it just like a floppy.

1. you need to add a script for the WM in a directory named Sessions below the gdm config directory. hmmmmm...on slackware, it's /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/gdm/Sessions(the actual location is /var/X11R6/lib/gdm/Sessions), but Slackware organizes X differently than the Red Hat collective(resistance is futile). I would guess that the correct path for Mandrake would be /usr/X11/gdm/Sessions, that's where Red Hat put it in the old days. so, edit one of the scripts that are already in there to exececute Window Maker and save it as windowmaker or whatever....reboot and you should have a new option.

2. unless you've done some partitioning to the zip disk, you're going to have to mount the fourth partition(I have no clue why Iomega chose to use the 4th). anyway, the command would probably look something like:

mount -t vfat /dev/sda4 /mnt/zip

your mount point could be anywhere though. if /mnt/zip doesn't exist, create it. otherwise, change /mnt/zip in the above to the mount point you want to use.

edited to remove some major typos.
