Send a message via AIM to Winnipesaukee
Linux/Unix Print server

Is there any way I can set up a print server using a Linux/Unix LiveCD (no hard drive)?
The only Live CDs I know of are DSL, Slax, and Knoppix...

If it matters, It's going to be on a Windows/Linux wireless network
I want to hook up 2 printers to it, so i can print from anywhere in the house

Any help? Thanks a bunch

I believe, but am not positive, that the CUPS server is installed in the Knoppix cd. I know it used to be anyway. To start the CUPS server just su to root and and enter "/etc/init.d/cupsys start" in the bash prompt. Then open "http://localhost:631/admin" in Konqueror. You can then install and configure your printer, if it's in the CUPS database that is. There are a lot of printers covered in CUPS so there's a good chance it is.
