Ok, I am rather new to linux and wanted to make a linux server out of an old computer of mine. What I need to know is which linux to use, and how to best set it up. I see all these linux distro's for donwload but am Not sure which one would actually work for my needs. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

This lists the most popular distros and their +/-'s. It may help you. I use FreeBSD myself which is not Linux but free.
