red hat 6.2

im having problems with my 64 mb geforce 2 pro agp MSI video card working with the xwindows/gnome. it asked for a driver and i put none(recommended), and i picked the 2 lowest resolutions in 16 bit. the colors are all garbage... i heard its possible to dmg your video card if its not supported so im just wondering how i should go about this

Setting your video card for incompatible timings or refresh rates could possibly damage your video card and/or monitor.

RedHat 6.2 is older than the GeForce GPU was ever conceived . However you can update your X Server to 4.xx from www.xfree86.org.
