Cool Partioning & installing Ark Linux

HI,

Im gonna be installing Ark Linux alongside my Xp home.
I will be using Partion magic 8 to create a new partion for the linux instilation.

Can you help me through making the partion using Partion magic 8?

How much space should i give the Linux? i was thinking 15-20Gb?
Should the new partion be Logical or Primary?
What file system type should i use? I can choose from the following-

NTFS
Fat32
Linux Ext2
Linux Ext3
Linux swap

As you can probably tell im not too cleaver when installing an os but i though i would give it a try.

Please help me step by step so its easier for me to understand.
Thankyou

You will need a minimum of 2 partitions, I recommend 3 though.

5 GB for your "/" partition - ext3
(Amount of memory * 1.5) for your swap partition
The rest for your "/home" partition - ext3
