OS Selection at Boot
My desktop is dual boot, Debian and XP. Debian is strted unless there is user intervention. My children are using this computer now and I would like it to run on XP only.
Is there a way to change the OS boot order to make XP first if there is no intervention? Homequick |

I don't think the above link will be any help as it deals with configuring the windows bootloader which was overwritten by your debian install by a linux bootloader called "grub" unless you elected to install an alternate linux bootloader called "lilo" during your debian install.
Assuming you have grub, you need to edit the grub configuration file, /boot/grub/menu.lst. That file is a plain text configuration file and you must be root to edit it. Find the line in menu.lst that says: default=0 and change it to: default=1 |

Thanks kilgoretrout!
Changing the default fixed my OS boot order issues. Had to set the default to 3 because XP was fourth in the list. |
