Knoppix ?

Hello Everyone

I want to "Get Into" Linux.
I downloaded both a "Live" CD, and a "Live" DVD, of Knoppix.
The problem is the same with both of them.
All seems to go well during to loading part, but, when you are suppose to get the "Desktop" all I get is a screenful of lines.
I have an LCD monitor, don't know if that should make a difference or not.

Any help or suggestions is much appreciated.

Post your graphics card and basic system specs, eg. cpu and ram, and native resolution of your lcd. There are some "cheat codes" you can pass at the boot prompt when your knoppix cd first boots which may help you get to a graphical desktop but without the above info, it's hard to give meaningful advice. I haven't tried it in a while, but the last time I hooked my lcd up with dvi, I had problems in linux. Going back to a standard hookup cured that. Something to keep in mind if you are using dvi.
