Ubuntu Loses Network Settings
I am using Ubuntu 6.06LTS x86_64 distro. I have to frequently re input the correct DNS setting for my network many times a day. I dont really know how to fix this problem or where to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had a similar problem trying to use a static IP on my Kubuntu 5.10 - so I just changed it to DHCP and it works fine. It picks up IP and DNS from my router.

I've got a local static IP assigned in my network settings and it works/holds fine. I'm using 6.06 (GNOME version).
On a somewhat related note, you may want to use he 32 bit distro. Computer Hobbiest here used the 64 bit version and had quite a bit of troubles with it. |

Not to completely hijack this thread, but 6.06 has fixed my issue. My exact issue was it would not hold my default gateway on restart.

Well I went ahead and installed 6.06 32 bit and it solved the problem.
faulkner132: I was having a heck of a time with the 64bit version also. Mainly the lack of alot of 64bit versions of apps that i needed. Particularly Flash. I thought I could live without it, but that lasted about 2 days. All I can say now is that I really love this distro, and dont ever plan on going back to "other" more expensive OS's.
