Ubuntu USB Wireless Drivers
Hi can anyone help me in getting drivers for my Safecom SWLUT-54125 USB wireless adapter.
I really want to use Ubuntu but I NEED to access the internet for it to be a viable OS for me to use. Thanks, Tom

You actually would be better off buying a PCI wireless NIC that uses a mainstream chipset.

This is how I got mine to work on Ubuntu 6.06 LTS
Go to: System --> Administration --> Windows Wireless Drivers Click "Install New Driver" Choose the location of your driver and the appropriate .inf file. Its pretty self explanitory from there. If you need any help from there let me know. |

*wonders why his install didn't have that option* :s
I've moved to Kubuntu instead as I prefer the KDE Environment...I am still on a cable at the moment though :@ |

They don't include that option during install because they can't ship the windows driver inf file with the distro. Ubuntu, and many other distros, will not ship non-GPL software with their distro and that driver is the copyrighted property of the manufacturer.
