SUSE 9.1 VS Mandriva 06?
I currently have both of the versions above and planning to install one but im not sure wich...I will install it on a spare 5400rpm 15gig HDD on my new system and currently i want to install it in a way that when i start my pc a bootscreen appears EX:
WINDOWS XP PRO #^$#(* ---LINUX Will i notice any performance diff with that configuration while running winxp? |

When you install Linux on the other drive it will offer to install the Grub Bootloader. That is what you need to install in order to get the boot screen selection
![]() I am considering trying SUSE myself...but Im aware they are both good Linux Distros.

That's a pretty old version of suse, easily over a year old if not two. If you wnat to go suse, download the most recent version here:
http://en.opensuse.org/Download It's a free download by the way. If not, I'd go with mandriva 2006; it's much more up to date. |

I think you will have better love with the Mandriva install. Suse is good, but as pointed out it is older than Mandriva 06.
