Setting up dual boot

I'm wanting to set up a dual boot system with the active partition being Ubuntu Linux 6.06 and the secondary OS being Windows XP (currently Windows XP is the OS on the drive). Does Linux include a partition program that can merely resize the current active partition to shrink it down and therefore make room for Linux? Or can I just go into the drive manager in Windows and shrink that down from there and then set up Linux on the space I have left over? Let me know if you need any more information.

Hi,

Been a long time since I've been over this way. Just thought I'd pop in.

You will find a utility called GParted on your Live/Install disc for Dapper. That should enable you to resize your partions.

Be sure to backup all important stuff first!!!

OOPS!

I found that I could use GParted, yes, but when I tried it, the program could not find my hard drive. Now, the HDD is SCSI, is GParted not designed to read SCSI hardware?
