Connecting to ssh server from a mac
I recently got my ssh server up and running and hosted by dyndns.com. I am able to connect to the server from a pc by using putty and the following .bat file:
putty -D 8080 -P 433 -ssh mydomain.com Then enter my login and password and then I am connected. I have been trying to figure out how to do the same from a mac. From what I have gathered the proper command (in the terminal) should be: ssh mylogin@mydomain.com And then it should ask me for a password, but it doesn't. It returns to the next line and doesn't let me execute any commands. I know that the problem isn't that the command is blocked or something because I can use "ssh user@u.arizona.edu" and i get a password prompt, so I know this command chould work. I think it might have to do something with connecting on port 443, just a thought. Any suggestions would be great, server is a windows machine that is running openssh for windows. Also, I can't really think of any reason to run putty in a patch file. Just click on putty add and save your settings and next time just load the connection.

Thanks for the post mairving, I can't test it right now. On Monday I should be able to try it again, I appreciate your time.

Well using the command you suggested I am able to connect. The only problem is that I cannot get this to work with browsers. With windows after running putty and logging in I merely have to change the browser proxy settings to run socks on 127.0.0.1 port 8080 and it is set. On osx when I do this I get no connection. Got any idea how to do this?
