some Kubuntu help?

Hey all, I'm trying out Kubuntu 6.10 "Edgy Eft, and I've been messing around with the adept manager, now it won't open up.

I get the message:

Could not open cache - Adept Manager

"The APT database could not be opened! This may be caused by incorrect APT configuration or some similar problem. Try running apt-setup and aptget-update in terminal and see if that helps to resolve the problem."

I think I entered a source wrong, when I was trying to install vlc (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-ubuntu.html), by adding a respository.

I can't load adept manager and get rid of the source because after I get the error message, it closes.

Any idea how to fix this? I've tried to run the commands and let me say, its not going so well.

Try it logged in as root, that may work

I fixed the line with by writing as root, but I still get the error message, ugh double post sorry.

Edit: Reupdated, everything's fine now, man I feel quite embarrassed.

6.10 is still beta, so keep in mind whenever you use beta software (especially an OS), stuff like this will work then break, work then break.

It's out of beta, but I have been reading that it's far from fully refined and stable.
