Connecting To Terminal

Hey,
This is my first post in this forums so I appreciate some welcomes......

I want to know if there is any way that I can have access to my terminal from another computer(windows,Mac) without using VNC . in other words I don't know how to use SSH when I don't have a domain and only know my Dynamic IP address and the local information ......

Any idea's about this?

Tanks In Advance,
TUW

If you use Windows XP pro, you can access your computer via Remote Desktop. You can register for an IP redirector service such as No-ip where you can use a free host name (i.e. mysite.no-ip.org instead of just your IP address). This will allow you to connect from a different computer oustside your network.

You can also ssh with a dynamic ip by using one of those free dynamic dns services. Here's an article that discusses this solution pretty thoroughly:

Also, welcome to the forum!!!!!

If you have a NAT router (sounds like you do), set the Mac to a static local IP and forward the needed ports to it in the router setup.

Static Address == DONE! I already did that but I still have a dynamic address from ISP (but well I don't disconnect so it never changes (for now) ) and for my router there is no option for forwarding ports (noobie version damn.....) there is only a DNZ option for that ....... that is activated for the IP of my Mac . So now how can I connect to it :/
