Completed build/nvidia drivers/1440 by 900

Build went great! Using Ubuntu and totally impressed.Using a nvidia 6600oc video card and still need to install drivers for it. Using a 19 in. widescreen w/ 1440by 900 resolution. In resolution settings there were no choices except default. Will the driver install take care of this at this level (open up the options here for the future). I guess the drivers are in the system but just need activated. Found a great place for the walk through. Also... get a double beep after post. They are about 3 seconds apart. Any help greatly appreciated.

Yep - the Nvidia driver will open up the widescreen resolutions. Once you've installed the driver, you'll need to edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf to change the driver used from 'nv' to 'nvidia', and manually add 1440x900 into the list of resolutions for it to appear in the GUI resolution changer.

Thanks FK, Appreciate the help. Looking forward to a full set-up/config. I'm sure to be asking some more questions in the coming days. The pc won't be my main one,(for now at least)so I'll be delving in to it and learning the "basic needs" stuff.
