Linux a continuing failure

Well, I got suckered again... in spite of my previous back luck with Linux I read about this Puppy Linux that sounded like simple one that actually work. So I try it. It loads DR DOS and then stops at A:> So I try to manually load it from the CD [yes I did try all the instructions]. It didn't work. And this distro's saying is it just works... ha ha ha

Meanwhile a guy at work just quite Suse 10, becuase he could never get it to work right. Sound like my other attempts.

All of this experimenting has gvien me rrespect for microsoft Windows. It just works.

And if I want a compact and fast OS, like Puppy and all the other Linuxes claim to be, I'll get a Win 98 CD.

I think this all proves that complex software projects NEED organized efforts by major companies. I have new found repect to Apple and Microsoft.

Do you really want to start a debate and incur the wrath of Linux fans here? This particular forum is somewhat of a sanctuary.

How about rephrasing your post and ask our members for help in getting it working? If you don't care to do that, then maybe it's best to move on. Linux is not for you.

I think I'll close this thread - if you really do want assistance, please feel free to repost.
