FC6 Login Never Loads...
Hey all,
Well, I had fc5 and it was wonderful, but I think in a system cleanup, I inadvertently messed up my installation, and I could only get into bash. I could see my files, but I couldnt run the OS. So, I moved my personal ish over to another hd, and downloaded the iso files for FC6. Well, I installed the os, and at first it failed the install. So i ran the install disk checker and it failed. Cleaned some junk of the disc and it worked fine. Finished the install, rebooted the comp and it charges off to load up linux. It boots fine, everything is green and then it brought up the first time boot page, ran though that wizard and then the screen turned black ad the little blue circle of dots appeared by my mouse cursor, and nothing happened. So I waited an hour, and still nothing happened. So i reset my comp and it booted up and a again no error, but when the login screen would come up, nothing. Should i reinstall or did i mess something up? Thanks. -coldfront |

Personally I would start from scratch, and reinstall FC-6, If it failed a second time I would re-burn the .iso

I reinstalled and their seems to be something wrong with my boot loader. I am now having trouble getting my live cd versions of linux to boot. Have been having some issues that would indicate a hardware problem, flashing the bios to see if that helps. Will let you know how it goes...
