Hi,
Does anyone know what the installation tree suppose to look like? I'm trying to install FC6 via NFS but I keep on getting the message "That directory does not seem to contain a Fedora Core installation tree". What I have done is created a private mirror using rsync then used NFS to make the files available on the local network. I get the same message even if I used an older bootable DVD (FC4) to install via NFS. The NFS share is accessible as I was able to mount this share from another Fedora box and able to browse through it. Is it possible to install from an NFS share where it does not contain ISO's? Am I missing a file that the NFS setup is looking for? Do I even have the correct directory structure? The directory structure is as follows: home +---fedora .....+-- linux ..........+-- core ..........|....+-- 6 ..........|.........+-- SRPMS ..........|.........+-- i386 ..........|..................+-- iso ..........|..................+-- os ..........|.......................|-- Fedora ..........|.......................|-- SRPMS ..........|.......................|-- images ..........|.......................|-- isolinux ..........|.......................|-- repodata ..........+-- updates ...............|-- 6 ...................+-- SRPMS ...................+-- i386 What's also confusing is that I'm also not able to install from ISO. I also get the same message as well. My /etc/exports file: # Directory Hosts(options) /home/fedora/linux/core 192.168.100.0/255.255.255.0(ro) /mnt/iso 192.168.100.0/255.255.255.0(ro,sync) #FC6 DVD ISO I used the following command to mount the DVD iso to /mnt/iso: mount -o loop -t iso9660 FC-6-i386-DVD.iso /mnt/iso Any ideas? EDIT: ignore the ISO problem. i got the workstation to read off the DVD ISO if I used the boot.iso (burned onto CD) that came with FC6. The FC4 bootable DVD (came bundled with reference book) didn't work. It looks like I can't use older boot.iso's. Last edited by DBCooper; 02-05-2007 at 12:02 AM. |
