won't connect ubuntu to internet
I just tried ubuntu 7.10 for the first time this weekend and everything seems okay except that I can't connect to the internet. I tried connecting with mozilla firefox since I also have that as one of my browsers on XP. I just get the message that it doesn't connect and to try again. It doesn't matter how many times I try it just doesn't connect. I have dial-up with NetZero. Any ideas of why it won't connect.

Netzero requires a proprietary dialer (software package). To my knowledge, Netzero does not have a Linux-compatible dialer.
If you want to use Linux, you need to change ISP's - either a dialup ISP that can work with standard PPP or get broadband. |
