Win Modem in Linux
I have mandrake, and I can't use my modem. It keeps on saying the modem is busy even when I try every port. I have a lucent wildwire win modem is there some drivers or a setup program I should run in linux. I also know that the modem wors since I use it in windows just fine. Any ideas?

If someone on the street corner were to sell you a Genuwhine Molex watch would you buy it thinking it would work as good as a Rolex?
Well, my friend, winmodems are not really modems, and your chances of getting it to work are slim to none. However try out the drivers listed here ( http://lhd.datapower.com/db/dispproduct.php3?DISP?1158 ) to see if you have better luck than the norm.

I know its POS, but it came with the computer. Since it uses software to emulate the functions of a modem I thought there might be some drivers made for linux. Anyways, thanks, I think I found something that will work, if not I'll just have it connect through my W2k computer.
