File Downloading Problems
Hello,
I'm running Slackware 7.1 which is connected to the internet with an ADSL modem using a 3com 3c509 NIC card. Another nic card in the linux box connects to a switch with three win2k professional boxes connected. I can browse the internet fine, but i can't seem to download files that other users outside of my lan have access to. For example, i tried to download the radeon drivers but it timed out after several kilobytes of downloading. My friend downloaded it on his computer, but i couldn't receive the dcc he tried to send to me in irc. If i try to ping www.ati.com i get the words (DUP!) beside the transfers. Is this indicating some kind of duplicate packet? |

Hi,
I would try and use wget. It runs from the CLI. Simply open a term and type- wget "urlofyourchoice" and hit enter. It will try to reconnect every time it gets dropped. Hope this helps some, OOPS!

Re: File Downloading Problems
The (DUP!) response is in fact a duplicate ping. It could come from having a wrong gateway IP for the subnet you are using. I'd suggest you check that out. You subnet is apparently pinging you back as well.
