Question about Drivers
If I buy a laptop on NewEgg that comes with all the stuff i want (it has 4GB ram, 320GB hd, DVD/CD burner, etc.) and re-install the OS from Vista to Solaris 10, will there be any issues with the drivers for the Nic card, DVD/CD Burner, etc?

I'm not too familiar with Solaris 10 OS but the coding is different from Vista so you probably need to find different supported drivers. Some one can correct me if I am wrong.

There might be.
The best way to find out would be to see if you can find anyone that has tried it with that model laptop before, and see what problems they had.

Try to get the model numbers of the components and look them up. You'll get more luck with a OpenSolaris based release since all the new drivers are only supported on systems based on more recent versions of OpenSolaris.
