What is the wrd on using fdisk vs fips vs partion magic?

Have to create my linux partitions and wld like some suggestions regarding what partition method to use in creating a dual boot win98SE and Linux possibly RH7. Hav read tons on the matter and wld like to get some perspectives frm folks who have used fdisk, fips, partition magic for the same purpose. Thanks

nightsky, fdisk is ok becuase it's free, but partition magic is,the best money I've spent,it allows you to change partition sizes on the fly really great, well worth the money.

FIPS does what partition magic does without support for as many partitions as Partition Magic is give you the ability to resize an existing partition. It works well, its fast and it doesnt cost an arm and leg.
FDISK is there with every OS, and it is the way to create and define partitions. Everything else (including partition magic) is a pretty looking front end. You will not need to use or need to know fdisk unless you are doing some heavy duty definition or u are comfortable with the options it presents (its a lot more advanced than the fdisk that win98 has). When you setup Linux the setup program will allow you to partitions at will.

Before you go out and buy partition magic, what is the status of your hard drive. do u have a free disk drive or a free partition that you want to use? I never have recommended partition magic unless people like to juggle everything around frequently. I'd really going with the free alternative.
