Question can I run Mac OS 9 or 10 on an AT system?

Am am building my first computer and am currently running OS 9 o my IMac, I want to porporation my HD with Linux and Max OS, can this be done on an system with an AMD Athlon prosser?

the quick answer is no.

the long answer is that in order to do so, you would need to get a "Mac emulator" to run on the PC to run mac OS, and, tho i have heard of such things, they generally either don't work, work slow, or work very unstable.

the problem is that much the way VirtualPC emulates a windows hardware environment so you can run windows on Mac hardware, so too must a Mac emulator create a Mac hardware environment to run the OS under windows hardware.

i could be completely wrong on this, as i have not looked for such software for a while, but, i would still STRONGLY not recomend even bothering to try and put MacOS onto a Wintel PC.

besides, Mac's are so much better than PC's anyway, why bother?

I think the Mac processor have comeptley differnt architecture optimized for a Mac OS, I think they have 128-bit CPUs?
