partitioning

I dual booted ubunty and made a error, told it to use all remaing free space.

so I downloaded the new ubd and ran the parted 6.6 partioning software.

did excellant job reducing the partition for ubunty from 50 gig down to 20 gig,

now I would like to expand the frist partition that has the windows installed to use the unallocated space left ,

but partedmagic won't let me do that, or I don't know how to do it

thanks

ok, but I want to add the 40 gig of free space to the c partition, not creat a new drive,
I did format the free space but it is not part of the c drive,
is it even possible to do this ?

reworded, I want to make the c partition 40 gig bigger using the free space.

If your free space is adjacent to your C partition, you should be able to enlarge the C partition by adding this adjacent space. If there is a partition between the C partition and the free space, you can't add that free space to the C partition.
