HDD speed + Linux?

I'm thinking about makeing a server, and so I want fast HDDs, however that could be a problem. Does Linux get along with RAID and SCSI? SCSI is a little expensive for me though.... I only want about 5-10GB, and I've ben thinking about two small HDDs in a RAID 0 setup, but I don't think RAID can use such old, small and slow(ATA33) HDDs, any thoughts? I want to spend AS LITTLE MONEY AS POSSIBLE.

I know it may be expensive, but go for the SCSI. I have a 10,000RPM 9.1Gb SCSI drive and Linux just screams with it. I've tried it with an IDE drive and there was no comparison.

If you really want value for going a RAID route, then ATA33 IDE is not the way to go. It may be cheap, but you will find little value for it. Especially if you are looking at RAID-0.. which IMHO is baseless for the ext2 and higher, and unless you are very astute with cluster sizes, you might see declining performances; and to top it off slow hdd-s. Seeing how your space requirements are not that great, I'd definitely recommend going the SCSI route, it might not be as expensive especially if you can sacrifice some performance on SCSI.
