What is the command that you type from the terminal of linux that allows you to boot into graphical linux?

Usually it is startx.

To start the graphical interface from commando line: startx
To boot in graphical mode, edit the file /etc/inittab and change the line which says: initdefault:3: to initdefault:5: Hope that helps. |

u really should get a friend that'll be able to help u with this sort of stuff. try getting caim working (command-line aim) and gaim once u have X working right.
i also second the motion to boot into text-mode and then start X once u'r in. |
