Broadband and Linux
Hello,
I'm about to install Linux again, this time using RH 7.2. Since I currently use DSL for my small home LAN, is relatively simple to configure RH to use this as well? Should I expect any hardware problems from my SB Live and GeForce II DDR video card or 3Com NIC? I'm also using a 100Gig Maxtor Hard Drive. I've been without a Linux box for several months and can't wait to get one back online. My other PC's at home are running Win2K and sharing a DSL connection via a Linksys 4 Port cable/DSL router. Anyone willing to offer any information, comments and/or advice, please do. Thanks..............TH |

eww, redhat. it babies you just liek windows does. if u really want to be a power user, go with slakware. it doesn't hide the command-line like lots of other distros. plus i think it's actually easier to configure the network under slak than it is under RH. make sure u have a linux-savvy friend available, it shoudl be pretty easy to get slak to the point where u can use gaim (aim for linux).
btw, i can help u a little AIM: grimey6117 |

All ya gotta do for the net connection is type in your DNS servers and specify DHCP for the IP address, you'll be good to go.
