Wireless Linux Networking

Let us assume, for the sake of argument, that a certain computer junkie who uses Linux, instead of Windows, were to move.

Let us further assume that the said computer junkie is getting old and no longer enjoys pulling network wire.

Let us further assume that said computer junkie is considering dumping his second telephone line in favor of broadband.

Precisely, what wireless networking kit would you recommend said old computer junkie purchase? Why?
